Michael Poindexter served as Interim President at Sacramento City College and returned to the Office of Vice President of Student Services before transitioning to Engaging You, LLC as the CEO, where he assist colleges with guided pathways equity and institutional transformation. He is also a Coach for Achieving the Dream and Guided Pathways.
Michael Poindexter also served as Consultant to the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of City College of San Francisco. This position assisted the Chancellor with the College transformation and coordination of Student Services and implementation of guided pathways structures.
As Vice President of Student Services at Sacramento City College, Mr. Poindexter has more than 25 years of administrative experience. Mr. Poindexter has led an exceptional career, serving in both two-year and four-year institutional environments.
At Drexel University, Sacramento, California, Mr. Poindexter has been an adjunct professor since 2009 in the Graduate Educational Leadership Program.
At Sacramento City College, he provided leadership to increased enrollment over 24% after his arrival to the college. As Vice President of Student Affairs at the Community College of Rhode Island, a new campus was opened and exceeded projected enrollment. During his tenure at Kingsborough Community College (KBCC), the Student Affairs Division held the highest student satisfaction and retention rate of all community colleges in CUNY. The students of KBCC presented him with a “Pursuit of Excellence Award” in recognition of his achievements. At the Community College of Denver (CCD) where he was Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment, he helped to lead an enrollment shift that has seen high school graduate and minority student enrollment climb to 50 percent of the total population. When he left CCD, minority student retention was on par with the retention of the student population overall. Previously, Mr. Poindexter served as Admissions Director at the University of Colorado and was an administrator and instructor at University of Texas, Iowa State University, and University of Northern Iowa.
In his field, Mr. Poindexter is internationally respected and recognized. He is sought after as a valued consultant, keynote speaker, conference presenter and convener. He served as a panelist/consultant for several PBS videoconferences on retention. He also serves as a consultant for California Guided Pathways, AACC Pathways, Community College Survey of Student Engagement, Achieving the Dream and was a previous Senior Consultant for Noel Levitz.
Mr. Poindexter is a member of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers, the American Association of Community Colleges, the Outstanding Men of America, as well as a previous board member of the Community College Survey for Student Engagement. He has been honored twice by the College Board for the coveted Outstanding Service Award. In addition, The United Negro College Fund acknowledged and awarded Mr. Poindexter the Excellence Award.

Charles L. Davenport, Jr.
Charles L. Davenport, Jr’s 35 year professional career has included employment with the federal and state government, as well as, non-profit and faith based organizations. Position highlights include serving as a U.S. Congressional Aide, a Senior Director with Interim National Director responsibilities for 24 years with the President’s premier national service program ‘AmeriCorps,’ headquartered in Washington, D.C. Charles’ education background includes advanced degrees in Counseling and Organizational Management.

Charles has a passion for working with individuals who and organizations that have a desire to improve and increase productivity and effectiveness, while creating and maintaining a healthy work environment for all employees and customers alike.
Maya Wheeler is the Executive Director and Founder of the Wezesha Dada Center and the Director of Strategic Partnerships for Classique, LLC. She holds an MBA, MHA, and MA where her studies emphasized business administration, health administration and information management combined with over 22 years of high-level project administration. She is also a trained Colorado Humanities Conversations Facilitator
Ms. Wheeler has been a strong community advocate holding leadership positions on numerous community boards and organizations. These include serving as President of Colorado Black Women for Political Action (CBWPA), Chair of the African American Initiative of the Colorado Democrats (AAICD), Chair of the Aurora Human Relations Commissions, and Advisor to City of Aurora Immigrant and Refugee Taskforce. She currently serves on the Black Business Advisory Board for the Colorado Enterprise Fund, Respecting Ethnic And Cultural Heritage (REACH), and Zion Senior Center Advisory Board. Ms. Wheeler is a Native Coloradan and has a BS in Business from the University of Colorado Boulder.
As a National and International award-winning strategic marketer, Quay Childress works for Classique as the Sr. Marketing Consultant and an EDI Instructor. She owns SOCL LUXE Marketing and works as a consultant, digital marketer, social media manager, event manager and website designer for several non-profit organizations and Fortune 500 companies.
Quay has worked in the Health Equity Multicultural Initiative department of one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the Nation, and as a Campaign Team Member to help counter violent extremist group recruitment for the U.S. Department of State and Meta, inc. She has also served in Community Health & Quality Systems Improvement departments with the goal of fostering community relationships to help integrate heart-healthy programs.
As a campaign career highlight, Quay was part of a team that was announced as the National Champions, being the only team from the United States, to make the final three. She was also awarded 32 under 32, and just recently graduated with her MBA from Louisiana State University - Shreveport.
Quay is also a part of the Dallas Regional Chamber for Young Professionals, Young at Heart, Dallas Toastmasters International, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
In her spare time, she enjoys self-care, playing with her dog-son (a 75-pound labradoodle), and traveling with her husband and family.
